Coldingham Loch is one of the oldest trout fisheries in Scotland and has built a reputation for providing excellent fishing in a fantastic setting. The loch has been operating as a fishery complemented by holiday accommodation for over thirty years and has built a strong reputation for providing excellent fishing and holiday experiences for its visitors.
We bought the loch and holiday cottages in September 2011 and are committed to building on this reputation so that anglers and holiday makers alike can come and enjoy this wonderful loch.
As the 2013 season approaches we are really looking forward to our second full season as owners of the Loch and hope to welcome back many of the people and fishing clubs that made us feel so welcome in our first year. The fishing in 2012 was reported by many to be top quality with fully finned fish giving excellent sport. The cool and wet summer meant that the water remained fresh and crystal clear for the majority of the season enabling stealthy anglers to practice their art with success.
Since our arrival, we have enjoyed meeting anglers and holiday cottage guests both regulars and new. What has really struck us is what a special place Coldingham Loch is for many of you out there and it has been a real pleasure to see individuals, groups, clubs and families alike coming along and enjoying this lovely loch.
We continue to ensure the beauty and integrity of the loch is maintained with a keen approach to loch maintenance. As always the stocking of the loch is paramount to its success as an enjoyable and challenging place to fish so this is always at the forefront as we plan for the season ahead.
We updated Lochside Cottage for the 2012 season and it proved our most popular let with many booking their next stay as they left. It offers a beautiful warm place for guests to relax and unwind and enjoy its unique position at the Loch’s edge…watching the trout rise!
For the 2013 season we are updating Lodge Cottage with a new kitchen (the bathroom we have already done) and a general spruce-up with painting and new carpets etc. The chalets are also getting some attention over the winter as we aim to ensure all guests have a really good holiday that is value for money in a comfortable and well kept property.
Finally thanks to all the fishermen, neighbours and the local community for making us feel so welcome and supported, it really is appreciated.
